Exciting News: We’re Growing!
We are beyond excited to announce that we will be breaking ground during the month of May 2026 for an expansion project designed to better serve our growing membership, staff, and community partners.
We are beginning a 3500 square foot expansion onto our current building at 211 Wilkinson Street in Syracuse, N.Y. The expansion will be one story and will consist of a meeting space for 100 people as well as three additional offices and two additional bathrooms. In addition to the expansion, a section of the back-office facilities will also be reconfigured. This will improve HVAC issues, spacing issues, and create two offices for our growing staff and needs.
Why Now?
We began exploring expansion options in 2025 as our membership and operational needs continued to grow. The expanded meeting space will allow us to host larger community events, including Big Rig Day, Senior Breakfast, Member Appreciation Week, and our Annual Meeting, while also providing space for staff training and member education seminars. Members can expect this space to be used more for events to provide shelter during inclement weather. Discussions remain ongoing with the Syracuse Fire Fighters Local 280 regarding continued renting of office space within the Credit Union building, with plans for the Local 280 to relocate upstairs into a new space which will create more office space and room for storage in our basement. Our relationship with the Local 280 remains strong and of the utmost importance. With a continued partnership, this allows our members to complete financial business and union business within the same building.
What to Expect
We are expecting these changes to have a few temporary impacts on members. Our parking lot will be a bit busier with construction vehicles and movement. We expect interruptions to our rear entrance with the Local 280 as well as our conference room/hallway. All other day-to-day operations should remain unaffected. We are expecting construction to be completed in December 2026.
“This expansion represents our continued commitment to serving our members and the Syracuse community for generations to come,” said Roxane Bowering, CEO. “As we grow, so does our responsibility to provide space for collaboration, education, and connection with the community.”
We look forward to celebrating with our members during a ribbon cutting ceremony and event at completion. As always, we will do our best to keep you updated, but please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions. It’s because of our members that we are as strong as we are, and we thank you for your continued support.
