It’s select employer group spotlight time! Our name says it all, all professional firefighters in New York State are welcome to be members at the credit union with a handful of departments located in the NYC area. What might come as a bit of a surprise is that we do welcome many other Select Employer Groups (SEG) to be members as well!
Look who’s eligible:
The credit union began back in 1950 in a locker at a Syracuse firehouse. We have grown, not just in size and products and services, but in membership as well. We opened membership to the Syracuse Police Department in 2005. Since then, we have also most recently began welcoming the Onondaga County Deputy Sheriffs Benevolent Association. Along with many of these first responders, we also accept employees of AMR of Central New York in Syracuse. Another surprising SEG group is the Onondaga County Department of Emergency Communications or 911! Our Credit Union understands the need for our busy members to get quick service on the go.
Along with emergency services, we also admit most employees from the City of Syracuse. From firefighters to city officials and office staff, we are happy to have them all! To see a complete list of our SEG groups and who is eligible for membership, click here.
We gladly accept these SEG groups and encourage them to have their coworkers join. As always, every active member can have their immediate family members join the Credit Union as well. This means parents, children, siblings, and grandparents! New members can apply here! While we love our Firefighter family, we welcome these other groups to be a part of the Credit Union family as well.
